MOJO Welcomes Julie Logsdon

Greetings and Happy Holidays, MOJO fans! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Julie Logsdon. I am the newest member of the MOJO team here at Thompson. I will be assuming the awesome responsibility of of keeping our Facebook followers in the know about all of our upcoming events and promotions, as well as sharing the newest and latest innovations and vehicles Jeep has to offer with you.
Here is a little bit about myself. I am originally from a small town in Western Maryland. I've been in Harford and Baltimore Counties collectively for many years, yet in comparison to my hometown this will always be the "big city" to me. Growing up in the mountains, I learned quickly that getting stuck in the woods, in a ditch, crossing a stream or going to work in three feet of snow made for a great day... provided I was a vehicle with the capability to do so. Naturally, I chose a Jeep to get me where I wanted and needed to go. And so my love affair with the Wrangler began...
Now fast forward sixteen years later... I've owned a variety of vehicles over time, but somehow the allure of having the ability to get out, get dirty, and get there (wherever "there" may be), only happens for me in a Jeep. I started out in a 1997 Citron Green Wrangler. Next came the 1979 CJ5 project "fun" Jeep. After that, came the 2000 Wrangler.
At this point, I was learning quickly how to modify a stock Wrangler into an offroading machine through trial and error. (Mostly error, at first!) My rig ended up with an eight inch lift, thirty-five inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials, a hi-lift jack mounted on the hood, Warn fender flares, black beadlock rims , a Hurst shifter, Rusty's shocks, a steering stabilizer, safari and trail doors (depending on my mood), handle grips, foot pegs, shovel mount, Jerry cans and mounts, KC lights, Borla exhaust, RAM air intake, and a Superchip on the engine. (I'm sure I'm forgetting things here, but you get the idea.)
So when it was all "done" to my satisfaction... I sold it. Yes, I said I sold it. It's what I do. I build it, fix it, get help modifying it, then I part with it to move on to the next one.
So last year, I strolled onto Thompson's lot to find a Jeep for my son, about to turn 18. I instead drove off in a 2005 Special Limited Edition Willy's Jeep Wrangler. I drove it for a year stock, as I had purchased it... and debated starting the process of customizing old Willy into another head turning, mud eating offroading beast. I brought Willy in for its' routine oil change at the end of October. Wouldn't you know it? I took home a 2011 Mango Tango Wrangler Unlimited. All the mods I wanted were already done by the talented design professionals at MOJO Customs! Score! I couldn't be happier.
Now that my son is driving, it only made sense to finally get him behind the wheel of the vehicle that will get him about the town safely, in all kinds of weather. Naturally, I bought him a Jeep. I purchased a 1990 Jeep Pioneer from Ms. Patricia and her husband, the good people of Alpha/Omega Offroad. Nice shape for the year and already lifted. We've added 35" tires and have started painting and customizing it together, one project at a time. I'm happy to pass the Jeep tradition down to my son. His bumper sticker reads, "It's Not For Sale. Build Your Own!") Yep, that's my boy.
In closing, I want to extend an invitation to everyone in the Jeep community to contact me here at Thompson for all of your Jeep needs. I will be available to assist you with any Wrangler inquiries, from sales to parts. I am especially excited to begin planning future events. Ocean City Jeep Week planning is already in the works... hopefully no hurricanes will get in the way of our fun this time around!
Feel free to email me at julielogsdon@thompsonautomotive.com or call 410-679-1400. Suggestions for future events are always welcome!
Lastly, on behalf of Thompson and MOJO Customs, I would like to wish all of our Jeep families a Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Julie Logsdon
