Used 2017 Jeep Wrangler at Thompson Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Edgewood for Edgewood, MD

This year's Wrangler is building on top of an icon in America, from its World War II military origins, all the way to traversing the steep roads of the White Mountains. Let's read on further about the Jeep Wrangler and decide where you are going to take it in 2017. The Wrangler has a door on each side, can pack four passengers. It is standard with double tow hooks up front, a single tow hook on the back, and even a USB port for the typical connected devices of today. The Cold Weather package adds heated seats, a remote start, all-weather floor mats, and fog-lights.

Under the Wrangler's Hood

The rugged engine that powers all Wrangler models (through all kinds of places) are found in a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that corrals 285 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission with Hill-start Assist is standard, and there is an option for a 5-speed automatic with both Hill-start Assist and Hill-Descent control. The Wrangler represents Jeep well with its standard high- and low-range gearing, and its 4-wheel drive. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler can be set to off-road friendly ratios (3.21, 3.73 or 4.10), which is variable based on the model. Towing maximum is at 2,000 pounds for the Wrangler (3500-lbs for the Unlimited). The 2017 Rubicon model employs short gearing and an efficient transfer case that sees a low crawl ratio. In Edmunds testing, zero to sixty miles per hour (mph) in 6.9 seconds was the time set, for a Wrangler with a manual transmission.

Design of Jeep Wrangler

The Wrangler is here in 2017 with four central models- the Sport, Sport S, Rubicon and Sahara. There are a few versions also available that are based on those trims. All Wranglers can be a soft top or a hardtop. The hardtop would have to be either body-color or black in color. The Sport model has a collapsible, tumble-forward seat in the back, tow hooks, a tilt-only steering wheel, full metal doors with crank windows, skid plates, a fold-down windshield, 16-inch steel wheels, hand-operated mirrors and locks, foglights, on/off-road tires, a spare tire that's full-size, a height-adjustable driver seat, removable doors, cruise control, and an audio system with eight-speakers (and a CD player/aux jack). The Sahara grabs the baton from the Sport and runs with automatic LED headlights, the Power Convenience Group items, LED foglights, extra painted body panels and trim, 18-inch alloy wheels, hood insulation for less noise, AC, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more. The Rubicon version borrows most of this, then puts on 17-inch alloy wheels, a heavy-duty Dana 44 axle on both axles, an electronically disconnecting front sway bar, custom tires, rock rails, and more. In the interior, there is a lot of features as well, like satellite radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, AC, and a single 115-volt outlet. The Jeep Wrangler can be purchased in two body types for 2017: the Wrangler Unlimited, with its 4-doors and five-passenger capability, and then the 2-door, four-passenger Wrangler, which we are discussing here primarily. The Unlimited model has a large gas tank and a tumble-forward, 60/40-split folding seat.

Conclusions

All 2017 Wranglers are made standard with advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger airbags, electronic stability control with a hydraulic assist brake booster, Hill-start Assist, traction control, anti-lock brakes, and a 'Sentry Key' engine immobilizer. Front-side airbags are an option for any model after the Sport trim. The Sport S and Sport versions gain the possibility of an available LED Lighting Group, which includes LED fog lamps and LED reflector headlamps. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) states that the Wrangler scored its highest rating of 'Good' in the moderate-overlap front-impact test.
