How Much Can the Jeep Wrangler Tow?
A bold vehicle starts with a bold construction. The standard 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine equipped on the Wrangler is sure to thrill you with 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
In addition to creating a smooth yet commanding drive, this engine allows for a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, when properly equipped with available Trailer Tow and HD Electrical Group.
If you're looking for a more efficient motor, opt for the 2.0-liter turbo I-4 engine.
This powertrain is paired with Engine Stop/Start technology, which seamlessly shuts off your engine when idling, helping you conserve fuel and stay on the road longer. The best part is this engine can still haul a maximum of 3,500 pounds, when properly equipped, thanks to 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

To make the most out of your fuel tank, a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine is also available. Since diesel is denser than regular fuel, it burns slower to help you earn an EPA-estimated 22 MPG city and 29 MPG highway. Again, with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, this engine can handle a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
With the ability to pull a lightweight travel trailer behind you, you'll be happy to have the available Trailer Sway Control. This system provides extra stability to you and your trailer to keep you on track, no matter how winding the road may be.
Is the Jeep Wrangler Good Off-Road?
